What are the BMI categories?
For adults the WHO categories are underweight below 18.5, normal 18.5–24.9, overweight 25–29.9 and obesity 30 and above.
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
No. It does not separate muscle from fat and is less reliable for athletes, older adults, children and some ethnic groups. Talk to a doctor about your health; this is not medical advice.
